Applus+ IDIADA

IDIADA, as a global partner to the automotive industry, provides complete solutions for automotive development projects worldwide. IDIADA’s Technical Centre is located 70 km south of Barcelona (Spain), having 28 subsidiaries and branch offices in several European, Asian, African and American countries, with a total work force of more than 2000 employees.

The core services of IDIADA are:

a) Vehicle Test and Engineering:

Regarding Vehicle Test and Engineering, the main fields of activity are: Design Engineering (CAS / CAD / CAE); Passive Safety & Active Safety, Powertrain & Emissions; Noise, Vibration and Harshness development and validation; Fatigue & Durability; Electric system and Electronics development and validation

b) Homologation:

Applus IDIADA is an accredited technical service designated by several European approval authorities and also recognised or accredited by other national authorities around the world. Its range of accreditations covers all types of mandatory standards in Europe applicable to road vehicles (motorcycles, passenger cars, LCV, trucks, buses and coaches…) also including the necessary inspections and actuations required to get the global European Community Whole Vehicle Type Approval (EWVTA).

c) Proving Ground:

IDIADA’s proving ground is recognized as one of the best facilities in the world, and is renowned for the quality of its customer service. As a multi-user facility, safety and confidentiality are of the highest priority.

IDIADA is member of the EARPA Executive Board, ERTICO and research board representative in the EGVIA board. R&D activities are a key enabler for the sustainable growth of IDIADA. The company shows a continued involvement in EC-funded activities since FP5, with major participation in projects in the fields of safety and energy efficiency.
